Why this summer bucket list works

Summers slip by on autopilot, then suddenly it’s September and you meant to do so much more. Writing a bucket list up front turns vague good intentions into a visible plan the whole family can see — and ticking each one off makes the season feel as full as it should.

How to use it

  1. Print the PDF (US Letter or A4) and brainstorm ideas together.
  2. Mix big adventures with cheap, easy wins so there’s always something to reach for.
  3. Stick it on the fridge and tick things off all summer. Aim to fill the page before school’s back.

Questions

Is this just for kids?+

Mostly aimed at family summers, but it works for anyone — write the trips, projects and small joys you want this summer to actually include rather than let it drift past.

How many things should we list?+

A mix of big and tiny is best — one or two adventures plus lots of cheap, easy wins (ice lollies in the garden, a film night). The little ones are what fill the summer up.
